1 Corinthians 12

Bottom Line:  “Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to the Spirit’s work”

Here are some things that we need to make sure we don’t miss from this passage. The church is meant to be a manifestation of the Spirit of God – present and working among His people. Through the gifts of the Spirit (and even more clearly through the love we show each other (chap. 13)) we show the presence of God’s Spirit among us. Here are 6 things about the gifts of the Spirit from 1 Cor. 12.

When it comes to the Gifts:

  1. It is about Him not us. The declaration of the Church: “Jesus is Lord!” (12:1-3)
  2. There is Diversity and Unity (12:5,6)
  3. All are Included (12:7)
  4. All are Valued (12:22,23)
  5. All can contribute (Eph. 4:16)
  6. It’s all Grace (12:11)
